Creativity Fund

Both Freespace and the Xiqu Centre take pride in promoting original works and presenting thought-provoking programmes. Without creativity, arts stagnate.

The Creativity Fund supports our continuous efforts to push artistic boundaries with each work we put on our stages. At West Kowloon, we are committed to inspiring and challenging our artists, and bringing fresh perspectives and thought-provoking stories to our audiences—and the Creativity Fund is an essential part of this commitment.

Bring extraordinary experiences to you

Previous commissions include The Impossible Trial – a musical by composer-lyricist duo Leon Ko and Chris Shum; the experimental Cantonese opera works Farewell My Concubine (New Adaptation) and Wenguang Explores the Valley, written and performed by xiqu rising stars Keith Lai and Janet Wong; and Company Wayne McGregor’s Autobiography, a co-commission with the internationally renowned institutions including Edinburgh International Festival and Sadler’s Wells.
