Creativity Fund

Each year, Freespace and Xiqu Centre present over 40 programmes, of which 10 are brand new productions and new commissions. The Creativity Fund is part of our mission to inspire and challenge artists and bring high-calibre,thought-provoking programmes to our audiences, introducing fresh perspectives and bold narratives.

Bringing phenomenal experiences to you

Previous commissions include The Impossible Trial – a musical by composer-lyricist duo Leon Ko and Chris Shum; the experimental Cantonese opera works Farewell My Concubine (New Adaptation) and Wenguang Explores the Valley, written and performed by xiqu rising stars Keith Lai and Janet Wong; and Company Wayne McGregor’s Autobiography, a co-commission with the internationally renowned institutions including Edinburgh International Festival and Sadler’s Wells.
